One of our most popular cosmetic and restorative services is the smile makeover, which is designed to transform and improve the smile's aesthetic appearance.

What Is a Smile Makeover?

A smile makeover is a generalized term typically used to refer to a series of restorative, cosmetic, and aesthetic treatments, services, and procedures designed to improve and enhance the appearance of the smile (teeth, gums, lips, and surrounding features). Smile makeovers can range from quick and simple to lengthy and complex, but they typically include more than one treatment or service.

Smile Makeover Services & Treatment Options

A smile makeover is a multifaceted treatment process that improves and enhances the health and appearance of the smile with a collection of services and treatments.

Restorative and Cosmetic Dental Treatments

Most makeovers include a combination of restorative and cosmetic dental treatments, such as:

  • Professional Teeth Whitening  - Safely and quickly dissolve and lift stubborn stains and discoloration for a brighter, whiter, more evenly colored teeth.
  • Porcelain Dental Veneers - Mask minor imperfections or completely transform the look of your smile.
  • Dental Implants - Replace one, several, or all of your missing teeth with dental implants or implant-supported dental restorations.
  • Same-Day CEREC Dental Crowns - Change the appearance of an unusually sized or shaped tooth or protect and restore a damaged natural tooth while improving your smile.
  • Composite Dental Bonding - Quickly correct and hide imperfections or restore your tooth's shape with bonding.
  • Dental Bridges - Restore a smile that's missing one or several consecutive teeth.
  • Full and Partial Dentures - Restore your smile by replacing your missing teeth.
  • Gum contouring - Correct a gummy smile and improve your smile's balance and symmetry.

Orthodontic Dental Treatments

Additionally, orthodontic treatments that straighten the teeth address overly crowded teeth, unusually gapped teeth, and malocclusion can also be used to improve the look of the smile and the alignment of the jaws.

The most popular orthodontic treatment used in smile transformation services is Invisalign.

Full-Service MedSpa

We also complement our cosmetic smile services with our MedSpa's full menu of treatments and services. These treatments can be used to improve the appearance of the smile, skin, and surrounding features to achieve an overall revitalized and polished look. Popular aesthetic treatments include:

  • Neuromodulators (Botox, Xeomin, and Daxxify) - Relax wrinkles, correct a gummy smile, or address temporomandibular joint disorder.
  • Dermal Fillers (Juvederm, Versa, or RHA) - Create a more youthful look.
  • Kybella - Chin contouring
  • PDO Thread Lift - Non-surgical facelift
  • Microdermabrasion (DiamondGlow), Microneedling (Skin Pen), Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)
  • Facials and Chemical Peels

The Smile Makeover Treatment Process

Consultation: Understanding Goals and Designing a Treatment Plan

The dental makeover treatment process begins with a thorough consultation. During this appointment, our dentist talks extensively with the patient to obtain a clear understanding of the patient's concerns and treatment goals. We want to understand what you like about your natural smile and what you want to improve so we can work with you to achieve your perfect smile.

After we understand your goals, we can offer you a variety of treatment plans and options. We will explain each treatment's purpose and why we recommend it. We'll also answer your questions and help you determine which plan and combination of treatments will be best for you.

We can then begin the first steps of your smile transformation.

Carrying Out the Treatment Plan

Each dental makeover looks different for every patient. The exact plan, combination, and schedule of treatments will depend on the patient's needs and goals. Usually, the process begins with general and restorative treatments that are designed to restore a person's oral health and the functionality of their smile. We then focus on cosmetic and aesthetic treatments and services to correct imperfections and improve the aesthetic appearance of the smile.

We work on restoring oral health and function in addition to optimizing the smile's appearance by focusing on aspects of the smile such as tooth color, tooth alignment, balance, symmetry, bite, and gum line.

How Long Does the Smile Makeover Treatment Process Take?

This step of the smile makeover process can vary greatly depending on the patient and their individual treatment plan. For patients with more straightforward, less complex needs, the process might be completed after one or two dental visits. For other patients with more complex needs, a smile makeover treatment plan can require several visits to our office and a relatively long schedule of alternating treatments and recovery periods.

Ongoing Maintenance and Dental Care

Once your smile makeover is complete, our dentist will provide instructions for taking care of your new smile. In addition to practicing good oral hygiene at home and continuing to visit our office for routine checkups. This might include instructions for taking care of your new dental prosthetics, maintaining your newly straightened smile with a retainer, or scheduling follow-up appointments for maintaining your MedSpa services.

Smile Makeover Cost – What to Expect

Depending on the type and complexity of the treatments, the patient's goals, and insurance coverage, smile makeover costs can range quite a bit per patient.

Dental insurance will sometimes cover some of the costs associated with smile makeover treatment, especially when the process involves restorative treatments needed for medical reasons.

Our office can provide each patient with estimated treatment costs in addition to helping them navigate their insurance policies to better predict their coverage.

Is a Smile Makeover Right for You?

Smile makeovers can be an amazing and transformative experience for patients with functional or aesthetic dental issues. These kinds of problems can impact a person's quality of life, confidence, comfort, and health. A smile makeover that restores oral health addresses functional problems, and improves the aesthetic appearance of a patient's smile can boost confidence while improving their overall happiness and quality of life.

The exact costs, timeline, and treatments involved in a smile cosmetic dentistry transformation will vary based on each patient's individual situation, goals, and current oral health. For some patients, a smile makeover might cost a considerable amount, involve invasive procedures, and require several dental appointments, while others will be able to achieve their smile goals in just one or two visits to our office.

Patients should understand what their treatment plans entail, and our dentist works closely with each patient to answer questions, thoroughly explain the treatment process, and help patients compare benefits to potential costs and risks. We strive to empower each of our patients to make the best decision for their oral health, smile goals, budget, treatment preferences, and schedule.
